Resident Involvement

At MHT, we encourage our residents to help shape our services, influence our policies and plans and scrutinise our performance.

Make a real difference

By getting involved you can make a real difference to the area in which you live. You can have a say on the way your home is managed and services are delivered. You can help create a stronger sense of community and will meet plenty of interesting people along the way.

Give as much time as you have to spare

Getting involved does not mean you have to attend lots of meetings and read a lot of paperwork. You can decide for yourself on your level of involvement in a way that fits your lifestyle. You can get involved for as little as a few minutes once every six months or as much as a couple of hours every few weeks. There are a huge variety of options open to you, and any level of time you can offer is valuable to us.

Get involved and learn new skills

We offer training to help you get the best from any involvement activity you take up. As well as specific training for particular roles, we are also able to offer more general skills development. Examples include: note taking, making meetings work and diversity awareness. We can help you look for funding for courses leading to recognised qualifications; we also have a small fund to help residents who identify a particular training need. Much of the training and experience can provide useful skills for the world of work.

It won’t cost you a thing

Our aim is that being involved will not cost you anything. Expenses are paid which include travel and any childcare and carers’ costs.
