It’s a yes!

Residents of Lambeth based Ashmole estate, in South London recently voted yes to a stock transfer proposal to Metropolitan Housing Trust London. The ballot saw a 64% turnout with 53% voting yes.

Lambeth Council presented residents with MHT London’s offer which promises to spend £30.4 million on the estate in the first six years after transfer and £20.7 million in the 24 years after.

High five approach to grass roots project

Wednesday 12 August saw elderly residents from Metropolitan Housing Trust’s scheme Passmore Edward House play host to a visit from Lynn Featerstone, MP for Wood Green.  The visit formed part of National Allotment Week.

The scheme, based in Bounds Green, recently completed the second year of a three year inter-generational project working with children from the local primary school. The project saw residents at the scheme passing on traditional skills such as rag rug making, weaving and gardening to children at the school.
