During these difficult times it can be hard to know where to turn for advice and help when dealing with money and financial problems. The good news is that there are a number of advice agencies that can assist you; either in person where you can receive face-to-face advice, by telephone, or even over the internet.

Help with your money

There are a number of charities who are available to help you with your debt and budgeting concerns, or any other money worries you may have. Their services can all be accessed free of charge and full details are listed below.

Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) – provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice from over 3,500 locations, nationwide. The service is available to everyone and helps people resolve their problems with debt, benefits, employment, housing, discrimination, and many more issues. The service is available online, at a local bureau or over the telephone.

Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) is a national charity, offering money advice over the telephone and over the internet. The services can be accessed via the fabove link, or by phoning free to 0800 107 2204, between 8am and 8pm, Monday to Friday.

National Debtline is a national charity offering money advice over the telephone, between 9am and 9pm Monday to Friday, and between 9am and 1pm on Saturday. Call 0808 808 4000 or visit their website.

payplan is a money advice agency specialising in helping people with multiple debts totaling of £5,000 or more. They can be contacted on 0800 280 2816 or via their website.

Debt Advice Foundation is a registered national debt advice and education charity offering free, confidential support and advice to anyone worried about loans, credit and debt. Visit their website.
