In some cases we can help residents who wish to swap homes with another MHP tenant or move to properties owned by other housing associations or a local council. These properties can be outside of the MHT London area and this is known as a mutual exchange. It is a swap of accommodation between tenants and relies on each party moving permanently into their exchange partner's property. This can only happen if both tenants have their landlords consent.
There are thousands of housing association and council tenants around the country looking for a swap. Your prospects are best if you are looking for a property with the same number of bedrooms or are willing to move to a smaller property, but it is worthwhile trying this option whatever your requirements.
MHT London are members of the web-based House Exchange scheme and Homeswapper. Both schemes are easy to use, updated regularly and offer different ways of searching for an exchange. New users are joining all the time and more landlords are offering the scheme to their tenants. To register, please visit www.houseexchange.org.uk or www.homeswapper.co.uk or call us for more information.
These are the only mutual exchange scheme we recommend and both are free to use for MHT London tenants.
MHT London tenants can also register with other mutual exchange schemes in their local area. These include:
