Have you ever thought about a quiet life away from the hustle and bustle of city life? The government’s Seaside and Country Homes scheme offers the opportunity for social housing tenants, aged 60 and over living in Greater London, the chance to move to the seaside, a smaller town or a country home.
Homes are available across the UK including Cornwall, Dorset, Norfolk, Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire.
MHT London may be able to help you find suitable accommodation. There are around 3,500 properties managed under the scheme run by Housing Moves and, with 300 households re-housed each year, there is plenty of choice. Properties available include one and two bedroom flats and two bedroom bungalows.
The cost of moving can be pretty stressful, which is why we may be able to offer to you some financial assistance for moving out of London or for freeing up a property? We may be able to offer you assistance with your removal costs and a grant reflecting the number of bedrooms you are vacating.
For information or to request an application form you can contact the Seaside and Country Homes team on 08450 21 20 20 or visit www.housingmoves.org.uk.
Or alternatively you can contact us directly on 0800 783 2399.
