Transfers

Transferring to another home

All permanent MHT London residents can apply to transfer from one of our properties to another.
You can be considered for transfer if your home is no longer suitable for your needs and you meet the necessary criteria for re-housing.

Due to limited availability residents can be on the waiting list for a long time, particularly when requesting to live in very specific areas or if a larger home is required. To make the transfer process as fair as possible, applications are assessed to see which residents have the greatest need according to their current living situation.

Examples of housing problems which may give priority to an application are:-

  • overcrowding
  • serious medical reasons;
  • serious special problems
  • where your home needs a lot of repairs or work which cannot be done while you are living in it
  • under occupation - we can sometimes offer incentives to residents who wish to transfer to a smaller home.

If you wish to apply for a transfer, please contact us on 0800 783 2399 to request a transfer request form.

Decluttering

We’ve all got things in our homes that we've had for years – but are they essential? You could get rid of old clothes you haven't worn for years, de-cluttering shelves, cupboards and under the beds. You’ll be amazed at what you’ve been collecting over the years. A clutter-free environment is easier to clean – and easier to keep clean.
