How to become a resident?

Our aim is to provide affordable housing to those who really need it.

If you would like to become a tenant of MHT London, you will need to contact your local authority in the first instance. Your local authority will 'recommend' you to us and we will get in touch and start the process of getting you housed into one of our homes.

The waiting lists can sometimes be long so it is better to apply early.

To be applicable for a MHT London home you must:

  • be recommended to us from your local authority
  • be able to demonstrate that you and your family are in real housing need
  • or be in need of supported housing.

Once you have been recommended to us, we will help you fill in an application form to ensure we can provide you with a home that will suit the needs of you and your family.

MHT London was originated in the 1950’s when Lady Molly Huggins, the wife of the Governor of Jamaica, started the Metropolitan Coloured People’s Association to provide good quality, affordable housing for immigrants from the West Indies.
