The Right to Acquire scheme gives eligible tenants of housing associations the legal right to buy the home they currently rent, if their home qualifies for the scheme.
If you were a previously secure tenant of a local authority and you became an assured tenant because ownership of your home was transferred to MHT London, you may be eligible for what is known as the ‘Preserved Right to Buy’. This only applies if you were living in your home at the date which it was transferred.
Under both schemes a tenant can buy their home at a price lower than the full market value if they are eligible.
Our Tenants Purchase Incentive Team administers the Right to Buy and Right to Acquire schemes for MHT London. The team can be contacted on 020 8920 7777 and are available from 9am-5.15pm Monday to Friday. You can also email them at righttobuy@mht.co.uk.
